Modern pas­sen­ger infor­ma­ti­on is beco­ming an incre­asing­ly important part of the tra­vel expe­ri­ence at Munich Air­port. The new bus info­tain­ment sys­tem from MG Indus­trie­elek­tro­nik com­bi­nes lar­ge-for­mat inte­ri­or dis­plays, audio announce­ments and exte­ri­or dis­plays into a com­pre­hen­si­ve pas­sen­ger infor­ma­ti­on system.

The solu­ti­on enables pas­sen­gers to recei­ve tar­ge­ted, rele­vant infor­ma­ti­on depen­ding on the spe­ci­fic jour­ney assign­ment. Infor­ma­ti­on dis­play­ed includes desti­na­ti­ons, ter­mi­nal and trans­fer infor­ma­ti­on, flight num­bers, desti­na­ti­ons, as well as boar­ding and ali­ght­ing instructions.

This turns the bus into an important infor­ma­ti­on hub within the tra­vel chain – pro­vi­ding pas­sen­gers with the right infor­ma­ti­on exact­ly whe­re they need it, throug­hout their journey.

29-Inch Ultra­wi­de Dis­plays for Clear Information

Each solo bus is equip­ped with two 29-inch ultra­wi­de dis­plays, while arti­cu­la­ted buses fea­ture three dis­plays. With a reso­lu­ti­on of 1,920 × 630 pixels, the dis­plays pro­vi­de clear and high­ly visi­ble infor­ma­ti­on and can be fle­xi­bly con­fi­gu­red with jour­ney-spe­ci­fic content.

The con­tent is tail­o­red to the respec­ti­ve jour­ney assign­ment and can be cura­ted using dedi­ca­ted tem­pla­tes. This allows the pas­sen­ger com­mu­ni­ca­ti­on to be adapt­ed fle­xi­bly to dif­fe­rent rou­tes, desti­na­ti­ons and tra­vel situations.

The 29-inch ultra­wi­de dis­plays pro­vi­de pas­sen­gers with up-to-date infor­ma­ti­on about the cur­rent stop and the next available con­nec­tions throug­hout the journey.

In addi­ti­on to the cur­rent desti­na­ti­on, the dis­plays can show tar­ge­ted infor­ma­ti­on about ter­mi­nals, trans­fers and other rele­vant tra­vel details. The con­tent is tail­o­red to the respec­ti­ve jour­ney assign­ment, pro­vi­ding pas­sen­gers with clear and easy-to-under­stand ori­en­ta­ti­on throug­hout the vehicle.

Infor­ma­ti­on for a Com­for­ta­ble Journey

The lar­ge-for­mat dis­plays can be used fle­xi­bly for dif­fe­rent types of pas­sen­ger infor­ma­ti­on. In addi­ti­on to stop and con­nec­tion infor­ma­ti­on, they can also dis­play important noti­ces for the journey.

Pas­sen­gers can be infor­med direct­ly on board about cur­rent infor­ma­ti­on, tra­vel gui­de­lines or spe­cial situa­tions. The con­tent is dis­play­ed accor­ding to the respec­ti­ve jour­ney assign­ment, ensu­ring clear and easy-to-under­stand communication.
