Passenger counting in regional traffic in Cologne
In November 2020, MG Industrieelektronik won the tender to equip the entire fleet with passenger counting. Approx. 270 vehicles will be equipped with counting sensors and passenger counting computers. FAN from GVS is used as the evaluation software.

A connection of the existing Atron on-board computer via IBIS-IP, as well as a standardized interface VDV 457–2 for the provision of the counting data is planned.

Another system innovation will be the possibility of automated firmware updates for the counting sensors and improved object and body recognition.

RVK would like to provide passengers with an app that they can use to find out how busy the vehicles are.
The tender for passenger information for a further 108 vehicles was also won and 29″ TFT compact displays were used.
