The B2host‑2 is a flexible and powerful on-board computer for buses and trains, which controls the entire vehicle periphery as well as locating and communication in the vehicle and thus meets all AVM requirements. It also serves as a data collector for counting data and videos.
Its modular / scalable design enables individual adaptation to the respective requirements.
T‑Systems as an internationally operating service provider for information and communication technology relies on hardware from MG. The B2host‑2 serves as a platform for T‑Systems’ software.
1100 on-board computers of the new generation have been ordered. The first 300 B2host‑2 on-board computers were delivered at the beginning of the year.
They will be used in projects of Bochum-Gelsenkirchener Straßenbahnen AG (BOGESTRA), Straßenbahn Herne-Castrop-Rauxel (HCR) and Dortmund Stadtwerke (DSW21).
There, they are gradually replacing the existing on-board computers and thus enabling the modification and expansion of individual functions or bringing the system up to the latest state of the art.
The particular challenge is that the new on-board computers used in the buses and trains must be fully compatible with the existing ITCS components and systems.
